The best initiatives in favor of the energy transition will be awarded in five categories: renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, awareness and dissemination, and energy communities.
From today until April 14, nominations may be submitted to the 14th edition of the National Energy Awards, organized jointly by the Association of Spanish Energy Management Agencies, EnerAgen and the Basque Energy Entity and which have sponsored by Red Eléctrica de España.
EnerAgen, made up of agencies and public entities with powers in the implementation of energy policies and management, has been calling these awards since 2008 as an activity aimed at recognizing the best projects and initiatives in favor of the energy transition that have been developed at the state level, this time throughout the year 2022.
Five categories
In this edition there are 5 categories, one more than the previous year since the categories of energy efficiency and sustainable mobility are summoned individually. The specific category of energy communities, convened for the first time in the previous edition, is maintained in this edition due to the good reception and excellent quality of the proposals received.
Therefore, there will be five award-winning categories in this 14th edition: renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, awareness and Dissemination, and Energy Communities.

Candidates
Participation, which will be channeled through the organizations belonging to EnerAgen or through the Association itself, is open to individuals, entities, public and private companies, groups, etc., who have excelled at a national, regional or local for their work in some of the categories.
In the case of Energy Communities, those projects that are formally constituted as of April 1, 2023 may participate.
The initiatives that are presented have had to be developed throughout the year 2022.
Criteria
The proposals will be assessed based on various criteria such as innovation, energy and environmental impact, the impact in economic terms, the associated socio-economic aspects and the replicability of the initiatives. In the specific case of energy communities, aspects such as their composition, governance and social revitalization, innovation, the associated energy and environmental impact and, with greater weight, social aspects will be valued.
In the bases you can consult in detail the criteria of grading that will be taken into account in each of the categories.
Awards Ceremony
The proposals will be evaluated by a specialized jury that will be made up of a maximum of five representatives of recognized prestige belonging to sectors of politics, technology, the university, journalistic and business fields, but closely related to the field of energy. Its ruling will be final and will be made public within a maximum period of three months from the end of the presentation of candidacies.
In recognition of the award-winning performance, EnerAgen will deliver the corresponding accrediting diploma within the framework of the awards ceremony to be held in Bilbao in June and which will be publicly disseminated.
